This Time Its Mallika Sherawat ...

Every big film function in Tamilnadu seems to generate a new controversy, first it was Kushboo's 'Chappal Incident' then the (in)famous Shreya controversy during the silver jubilee celebrations of her film Shivaji and now its Mallika Sherawat's turn. The 'dress' she wore at the audio release of Dasavatharam is supposed to have caused 'mental agony' to the people of TN. And she went on to sit with her legs crossed when Thamizh thatha, our CM was around.

The complainant no wonder is from HMK, the self proclaimed 'Hindu Makkal Katchi' whose sole mission seems to be protecting ' Thamizh culture' - very noble, but then according to them the whole process of protecting our culture seems to start and end with making the leading ladies of Kollywood cover up.

Last time around Shreya was intelligent enough to end the issue with a quick apology and an explanation that she came in directly from a film shoot, so there was no effigy burning, effigy thrashing using chappals etc. But, Mallika isn't all that bothered .. So, i think this time we'll be treated(?) to a long drawn controversy.

btw here is the pic of the dress that caused 'mental agony' to the people of TN.

And ya, this time Mallika's dress is little over-the-top, Shreya's dress was nothing at all compared to ^^ this. But, 'mental agony' is too much methinks..

It was almost anticipated(I read in some blogs too) even during the function that this issue will be bombed by those idiots.

Vela illa'na ippadi dhaan 'predictable stupidity' will show up.

Yes, yes, after looking at the pictures of the function, i already had a prediction about the level of 'mental agony' that it could cause our poor people....

Aanalaum namba aluka ellam ushar bhaa...ahead of every function they should spell out the dress code for the parties....athai vuttutu nalla ellathaiyum paathu jollu vittutu then start to go around complaining...thereby keeping those memories and pictures in circulation for some more time!intha Chanakya thanthiram yaarukku varum?

@Everyone: Thanks for sharing your views .. ;)

@Vijay: Dress awesome = okay ..

And, 'Thoo' ithellam oru reason a ?

You really think she was thinking bout' the chennai weather when she picked that dress ?

Waaaahhh... the dress is very daring and not good in the eye ;0 Who is she?

Mental agony indeed...honestly, I guess some people have nothing better to do than crib abt this and that for purely political reasons!

And it brings to another point - on double standards and hypocrisy of our people:
Mallika in the same dress in an item number would be well received and make a box office hit by the very people who were 'agonized' seeing her on stage.

^^.. The HMK has nothing else to do. I don't think they've ever been on the news except during these little 'culture protection' gimmicks.

And ya, this dress is nothing really when compared to her costumes in movies.

The same with the IPL cheergirls controversy. A Bangalore cheerleader (the ones from US of A - Washington redheads or something like that) says 'I see bollywood heroines wearing clothes like 'this', but the moral policing crowd has no problem with them'.

Like others have said, what mental agony? I'm sure that many have ENJOYED watching her...!! It's not mental agony that you should 'charge' her with..it is the lack of common sense to dress properly when coming to a function where there are PEOPLE around!!!

Acting in movies with 'less than enough' clothing is one thing...coming to a function with such attires is preposterous!

Ha! I thought i recognize her in some jackie chan film. Although i forgot the tittle. Maybe we should judge her talent in acting rather than her outfit...

Guru said...

Yep, she was the Indian princess in his 2005 movie 'The Myth'. And no, we are not judging her by her outfit, her outfit just caused a controversy and we are discussing that.

That is all..
